Letter from the Editor

by Aeri Song

Dear Readers,

This myHogwarts year sure has been eventful. Especially with it being my first time as a Postfect! I think that it has also been strangely quiet! But that may be because I missed a lot of the chaos. 😄

I know in the last 2ish weeks, I have not been as active as I usually am, but a move almost 8,000 miles away will do that to you! Anyway, I would like to thank the Quibbler team for all of their hard work and getting things done without my guidance. I am positive that this issue is as great as it usually is!

Thank you always beloved readers for reading this issue of The Quibbler. If it wasn't for you, The Quibbler probably would not be around. Anyway, we all hope you enjoy this issue and here's to many more!

Interview: New Staff at mH!

by Reyna Walles

Did you hear that? Two brand new Admins have joined the fabulous Admin team at myHogwarts! This time, we decided to visit these two experienced users in their new roles and enjoy a pleasant discussion with them. First of all, we have Willow, one of the mH veterans, who have been known to our lovely users over years in many different roles. Curious to find out what she told us in her Interview? Just look below!
Reyna: Hello there, Willow! First of all, I must thank you for arriving here for a short Interview for our upcoming Quibbler Issue. Congratulations on your new positions at mH as an Admin, Head of House of Slytherdor as well as CoMC Professor. Let's get started right away! What were your instant feelings that genera within you when you learned you were selected as an Admin?

Willow: I wasn't expecting to be asked, but I was happy! I've been a member of this site for more than 10 years now so it was great to be given the opportunity to help to make the site what it is, and make it a fun experience for other members, just like the experience that I have had. 😊

Reyna: What kind of new responsibilities were you given as a result of being chosen as a trainee Admin? How are you enjoying them so far?

Willow: I've taken on the role of Slytherdor Head of House, which involves being a main point of contact for all those in Slytherin and Gryffindor houses. I make sure these members are doing ok, support the badges with their roles, welcome new members, and generally help with things and answer questions around the site. I'm enjoying being more in-touch with student life, which I haven't done for several years now, and getting the chance to help out and interact with members I hadn't talked to much previously!

Reyna: Have you had any problems adapting to your new position?

Willow: The class system has changed since I was a student, so I had to do some reading to catch up on how it works these days! But I'm up-to-speed now. 😊

Reyna: You are also the new CoMC Professor. Why do you think you had applied for it, specifically?

Willow: I really enjoyed CoMC when I was a student and I love animals in general, so it was a good fit for me! I also really enjoy that it allows for a lot of creativity, both in the lessons and in the practicals, and I have loved reading the ideas that have been submitted so far!

Reyna: What kind of new ideas do you have for the class, and have you already implemented any of them?

Wil
low: So far, I have kept everything the same to allow people to take the classes that they might not have taken in previous years. I think the CoMC courses have been really well designed (and I'm not just saying that because the headmistress wrote them!) so most changes will be quite minor. However, one idea I have is some kind of task where you can choose a creature to research. to let people write about a creature that they are most drawn to!

Reyna: What piece of advice you may have for one of your students, or any user of the site to follow your path to success on mH?

Wil
low: If you take on responsibility well and show you can be reliable in whatever jobs/positions you have, however small, this will show people that you can take on bigger roles!

Reyna: Well, well, thank you so much for sharing your words and thoughts in this Interview! I am pretty sure our readers would enjoy your encouragement and the pieces of advice you shared with us. Once again, congratulations on your new roles, and best of luck!
And then, we have another new Admin staring at stars to share some more opinions and views in this Interview. Let's see what this former Slytherin has to say to Quibbler...

Reyna: Hello there, Reiluna! First of all, I must thank you for arriving here for a short Interview for our upcoming Quibbler Issue. Congratulations on your new positions at mH as a Trainee Admin, as well as Astronomy Professor. Let's get started right away! What were your instant feelings that genera within you when you learned you were selected as a trainee Admin?

Reiluna: I was in disbelief! I wasn’t sure I was reading things correctly, and to be honest it took a few days for everything to really sink in. Of course, I was grateful for the opportunity and a little confused but also intrigued about what an Admin in Training position entails. The excitement set in once I got to know more about it!
Reyna: How is your training going? Have you had any problems adapting to your new position?

Reiluna: I think my training is going well! There’s a lot to learn but I’m used to learning every day as a student, so there were no problems adapting in that regard. It also helps to have a great team of admin there to teach me every step of the way!

Reyna: What kind of new responsibilities were you given as a result of being chosen as a trainee Admin? How are you enjoying them so far?

Reiluna: Admin in Training at its core is all about learning, so getting acquainted with mH’s history, its inner workings, and some secrets here and there. I’m definitely enjoying my role! 😉

Reyna: You are also the new Astronomy Professor. Why do you think you had applied for it, specifically?

Reiluna: I applied for Astronomy Professor because I’ve had a long-time fascination with the subject and I loved taking the class as a student. I wanted to carry forward what my past professors taught me and continue the class’s legacy!

Reyna: What kind of new ideas do you have for the class, and have you already implemented any of them?

Reiluna: I have some ideas for widening the breadth of topics taught in the class. So far, I’ve added more foundational topics like the Moon and Shooting Stars lessons for 1st-4th years, and a creative assignment for NEWT students. I have another big topic in the works for all years, but I suppose you’ll have to stay tuned in future years for the reveal. 😉

Reyna: What piece of advice you may have for one of your students, or any user of the site to follow your path to success on mH?

Reiluna: I think success looks different for each person and achieving your goals is only half of it - you should also enjoy the work you’re doing to get there! My advice is to explore what mH has to offer, find what you enjoy, and put your best effort towards it. The rest will follow!

Reyna:  Well, well, thank you so much for sharing your words and thoughts in this Interview! I am pretty sure our readers would enjoy your encouragement and the pieces of advice you shared with us. Once again, congratulations on your new roles, and best of luck!
