SEE THE DRAGONS
WE'RE OFF TO
Letter from the Editor
by Harmony203
Hello, hello, my lover-ly Readers!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this upcoming issue of the Quibbler. Let me know if you like the attempt to spruce up the Quibbler with some fancy images, some wizarding and some muggle. It’s always nice to spice things up but it only works if we get some feedback on how well our changes are received! (The feedback box is right here ------------------------> )
I’m also going to open another casting call for Stand-by Writers! With the many, many things happening around the site, we can’t keep up! So, if you want to be included in the mailing list as a Stand-by Writer, just PM me, Harmony203, (click the computer icon.... right here! ) and you can get started today! It doesn’t require regular commitment, just write an article whenever you have free time!
If you don’t like to write (nothing wrong with that!), we’re also open to image submissions at any time! As I’ve said, we’re trying to spruce things up in the Quibbler, so submit all your wonderful artwork, random gifs, and other colourful tidbits you’d like to see in the Quibbler. I can’t promise that we’ll include them all, but we’ll do our best! You’ll receive a shout-out and/or monetary compensation (for original creations).
And now, after those wonderful ads (sorry, not sorry), down to business! I’ve been asked by the Head of the DMT, Ella Granger, and Naomi-Jayne, the Head of the MLE, to post a retraction on my previous Quibbler Quest. I’ll admit, I did take some creative liberties with my Quibbler Quest. But who doesn’t like adding some fluff to an adventure? Certainly not me!
I won’t apologize for going on the Quibbler Quest because I am an investigative journalist, however, it is true that I should have consulted the DMT staff to seek official permission to look around. So, in regards to that retraction:
1) I’d like to include a copy of my (un-) official apology:
2) Remind everyone about the importance of disclaimers!
3) Ask everyone to assume that the contents of the previous Quibbler Quest were untrue because it just wouldn’t do to spoil the surprise of that awesome track Jenna’s planning!
And... that's all for today, folks!
Toodle-oo, y'all!

Houses & Horoscopes: Leo & Virgo
by White_Star
Welcome back to the third issue of Houses and Horoscopes! This issue, we will be taking a look at Leo and Virgo.
Let’s start by taking a look at Leo, the lion. Leos are known for being creative, self-confident, dramatic, charismatic, and sometimes even a bit arrogant. Leos are also known to be natural leaders and often are very popular, attracting large groups of friends. It is easy to assume that Leos would be natural Gryffindors, and many of you, our dear readers, seem to agree with this assumption. Two thirds of our voters from last issue said that Gryffindor would be the most common house among Leos. However, I am here to tell you that you are all wrong! (Well, at least two thirds of you are.) Among mHers, 62.5% of Leos are actually in Ravenclaw, with the remainder being evenly spread between the other three houses. Like I said in the very first issue of Houses and Horoscopes, I think it is important to abandon canon book/movie stereotypes when considering these correlations. In the books, Gryffindors are portrayed as arrogant popular kids, which would fit with some of the more negative Leo stereotypes. But Leos are far more than arrogant; they are creative, confident, stubborn, and charismatic. All of these traits can be seen in many of our mH Ravenclaws! Some of our readers also noticed this, as the remaining third all voted for Ravenclaw.
Next up, we have Virgo, the 6th sign of the zodiac, which means we are halfway through! Virgos are known for being extremely detail-oriented, analytical, loyal, practical, and hardworking. Being hardworking and loyal seems very Hufflepuff to both me and the majority of our readers, and this time, it would seem this prediction is accurate! Virgos made up 8.57% of my mH sample group, and half of them were, indeed, Hufflepuffs, while, once again, the remainder was evenly distributed between the three other houses. With Virgo’s kind nature and strong work ethic, it is easy to see why Hufflepuff is a good home for our mH Virgos, yet it is also easy to see how Virgos could easily be at home in other houses. These types of traits could easily be seen in any house. Gryffindors are often considered loyal, Ravenclaws are often analytical, and Slytherin ambition can only thrive with hard work.
That’s it for this issue of Houses and Horoscopes! Please place your votes for Libra and Scorpio in the polls below. And as always, feel free to send me any comments, questions, or other feedback!
Some Quizzardly fun!
by Harmony203
A couple of weeks ago, Quiz Night was revived!
While the Founders Lodge & Brewery is mostly a place for alumni to buy some drinks and gossip, I mean, scuttlebutt, once in a blue moon, Quiz Night is hosted here. Alumni were able to participate in a summer-themed Quiz Night, with a twist! Instead of a traditionally randomly-generated line-up, team captains Gemini and crockhanks were allowed to "draft" their team members.
In a hilarious exchange of quips and polite "you first", "no, you first", "no, you", the team captains alternated and did just that! Team A featured Disa, Arielle, Queen Nicole, Jenna Rae, Crystalink, Naomi-Jayne, and SusanHP, led by Gemini. Team B had AnneliseWolfe, Memrah, Golden Snidget, Harmony203, Rae, and Jess the First, led by crockhanks. And, once the teams were squirreled away into their respective hideouts, the Quiz Night began!
3 days and nights of fun debates, answers, and questions about questions resulted in Team Gemini winning by just 3 points, due largely to their early lead in the first round. While Team Dewy managed to score just a smidge higher in the later 2 rounds, it just wasn't enough to beat that large lead, drat!

Oh, well! It was a fun event overall and upon its completion, both teams headed right next door to the booth for some celebratory drinks. If that sounded fun, maybe some students could ask Jake to set up another round of Quiz Night for next year's interim leave, once again allowing student to have a taste of the of-age life.
