Unnecessary Advice with Nicole

Watercolor Cucumber

Hello mH! It's been a minute... or more, and several issues of my not-so-creative editor standing in for me (yikes!) but I am back... at least for now! I've been burried under paperwork in the Ministry - my co-head Linda runs a tight ship when quidditch players go missing - and I haven't had time to just get out and breathe. Now that the hectic days of the year have mostly passed, Linda has let me off my leash and I'm now wandering the castle... ONLY TO FIND that Headmistress Jess lost her marbles and let the evil incarnate Menace loose on the grounds.

What the even pancakes!

I know that the year is winding down, but there was a question in my inbox that stated: How does one go about pranking a certain evil incarnate toad? And this got me thinking... It's not the toad's fault that she was let free to roam the halls, why go after her when the real vegetable to fry is the Headmistress herself?

So here ya go... Here's how to prank the Headmistress... All of you want to know, I'm sure. So lean in closely...

1. Do all your homework, on time and above the expectations set! What's better than getting revenge than doing something that's totally unexpected? It seems Hogwarts is experiencing a lack of passion in the homework realm. All you whippersnappers want the easy way out, but let me tell you. The best revenge is the revenge best served on time and above expectations... then you'll surely get more housepoints than the professors actually want to hand out, and what have you... More housepoints AND shocked professors. That's sure to stick a foot in Jess's gob!

2. Help Hogwarts stay clean and pick up after yourselves in the Great Hall so you can save the house elves from the terror reign that is the Headmistress. Currently Headmistress Jess employs thousands of house elves to keep Hogwarts clean and polished, but imagine if you kept Hogwarts clean, then the House elves wouldn't have to do it and, therefore, could be set free. If you'd rather just skip the keeping things clean, hide some socks around the Great Hall and set those house elves free AND get on Jess's bad side when the castle gets dirty with no migrant workers to clean after her.

3. Create a suggestion box and fill it with mindless, frivolous suggestions and leave it in the Headmistress's office. Once she finds it, she'll have to pour hours into looking into each and every opinion and option and consider them. What a great waste of her time, indeed.

4. If all else fails, exploding whoopie cushions are a Headmistress' best friend.

So there you have it... the advice no one asked for, but the advice everyone wants. Why aim for the lowest toad on the toad-em pole, when you can grab the one at the top and topple the pole? I mean, worse case scenario Jess will fire this advice columnist and I'll have to write full-time for the Quibbler. Until next time, stay sassy.
