Year 51 saw myHogwarts staff and students celebrating April Fools, a day that brings out the prankster in even the most serious of witches and wizards. While our students suddenly started aging into nonagenarians with most celebrating a 99th birthday, the Professors certainly did not miss out on the fun.

Hufflepuff badgers changed colours: becoming black and a stealthy little ninja began appearing beside student usernames before disappearing.          Meanwhile, true to their name, Disa’s Dande-lions were each given a little dandelion icon.         Our final two houses welcomed Pokémon to Hogwarts; no doubt inspired by their leader, Herbologist extraordinaire, and all-round green-thumb Professor Anne, the Slytherins were each assigned a tiny Bulbasaur             while Ravenclaws changed their name, embraced the pink, and became Jigglypuffs.

Speaking of our professors some found their offices, usually reserved for academic chit chat and pastoral duties, instead became fair game for pranks and hijinks. Professor Smart’s office was filled with xylophones, allegedly by a colleague no less! In other happenings two brilliant students self-styled as Gryffinclaw pranksters-in-chief, despite the efforts of one particularly diligent professor chasing them all over the castle, managed to hand deliver howlers to the admin’s school offices in what was an effort to keep spirits high the howlers simply yelled nice things the Professors before showering them in a pinch of confetti and leaving a friendly little calling card. In response a rapping mouse appeared in the great hall, cutting loose with sensational rhymes inspired by the day’s events.

The shenanigans did not stop there, our Deputy Head saw her avatar changed to a real-life Dandy-Lion, while Mermen appeared all over Discord. Speaking of Discord, the ever-helpful Dobby appeared to have been charmed to randomly shout at students, alumni and admin alike, interjecting when triggered by certain words. Much fun was had as everyone worked together to discover these triggers as more continued to be added throughout the day, in fact it would seem Dobby has unusually inspired Peeves’ mischief making with Peeves currently taking up his mantle on Discord while Dobby enjoys a well-earned break, after the no doubt exhaustive amount of time spent cleaning up after the antics at the castle
