Meet the All-Star Students

by White_Star

Besides creating a way to get your heart racing, blood pumping, and your keepers panicking, the introduction of Real-Time Quidditch has allowed for the inception of one of the most exciting sporting events of the year, the All-Star Quidditch Match where the best student and alumni players face off in an epic RTQ match. The members of the All-Star teams were announced just a little bit ago, so let’s take a look at our student team!

Chasers:

Taya ~ In Year 47, Taya was a second year student and played primarily chaser for the Gryffindor team. She did also play seeker for one match and successfully caught the snitch, winning the game for Gryffindor. Unfortunately, it is possible that Taya may not be able to take her place on the All-Star team due to an unfortunate quidditch accident towards the end of last season causing her to need to take a break for the time being.

Raspyriel ~ Now onto our next chaser, Raspyriel! Raspyriel will be entering her third year as a Slytherin student in Year 48. She played chaser for all three of Slytherin’s games in Year 47 and scored three separate times over the course of the season. Obviously quite the talented chaser, we here at the Quibbler will definitely be rooting for one of our own as she goes up against the alumni team in the all-star match!

Ashftslipknot14 ~ And for our final student chaser, we have Slytherin’s Year 48 Quidditch Captain, Ashftslipknot14, also known as Morgan. It is easy to say that Morgan is qualified both for her position as QC and for her spot on the All-Star team. Back in Year 42, she proved herself as a first year quidditch player and won the Rookie of the Year award, which she then followed up last year by winning Quidditch Player of the Year. But it is worth noting that she never played chaser for her house in Year 47. Instead, Morgan was an incredibly consistent beater who rarely missed an update all season. Definitely impressive! Best of luck to Morgan as she joins her housemate as a chaser for the All-Star match.

Beaters:

AnneliseWolfe ~ Our first All-Star Beater brings us to the recently graduated Head Girl, Annelise. Normally, I would say that after having been purpled, this will be Anne’s last chance to play quidditch with the students, but Anne’s case is a bit unique. Instead of being purpled, she turned green and became the Slytherin HoH. Therefore, it is still possible that we may see her on the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch in coming years playing for the Slytherin team as their Head of House. But for now, let’s focus on her achievements as a Ravenclaw students. With the exception of a brief substitution as a chaser, Anne played beater for all three matches and faithfully kept the bludgers away from her teammates. Keep an eye out for the All-Star match later this year to see Anne reprise her role as a student beater one last time!

Lilly McKinnon ~ The second beater and first Hufflepuff of the All-Star team, Lilly! Lilly is an OWL student and currently Hufflepuff’s Quidditch Captain. Lilly played beater for all three of Hufflepuff’s matches, even managing to keep her team safe as the only beater for two of Hufflepuff’s games! Not an easy thing to do so kudos to Lilly! It’s quite possible she may even find the All-Star match to be a bit easier than what she did for Hufflepuff in Year 47 since she will have the help of an additional beater this time.

Keeper:

Tashalouiise ~ Introducing the student all-star keeper, Tasha! Tasha is a Slytherin Prefect and a NEWT student. Tasha played Keeper for all three Slytherin games Year 47 and made several impressive saves over the course of the season. For the all-star game she will be taking on the extra special (and nerve wracking!) challenge of RTQ keeping, a role that many find incredibly stressful due to the ten second countdown! 10, 9, 8, 7…

Seeker:

Disa ~ The student seeker is another recent graduate and former Head Girl, except unlike Annelise, Disa actually turned purple! Upon graduating Disa obtained the position of Astronomy professor, so while we may not be seeing her on the quidditch pitch, she can still be seen around the castle. Disa played seeker for the Hufflepuff team and caught two out of three snitches in Year 47. Congratulations to Disa for both her new job and her spot on the All-Star team!

There you have it, the Student All-Star Quidditch Team! Once again, congratulations and good luck to all of the team members. Keep an eye out for announcements about when the match is taking place and make sure to cheer on the teams!

Crispy, crunchy, fluffy — just some of the words used to describe the famous never ending mountains of potatoes served at this year’s start of term feast! So naturally I decided to find out how the house elves manage to cook the perfect roasted potatoes every year.

I visited my new favourite house elves, Tink and Mitzy, and after some bribing with Butterbeer and chocolate frogs, they told me how to make their delicious golden potatoes at home! So now you can satiate those cravings during summertime!

Ingredients

1 kg Round Russet Potatoes
4 tbsp Olive oil (this will roast them the best)
6 to 8 Cloves of garlic
3 Sprigs of Rosemary
2 tsp Garlic Power
Salt and pepper to taste
