The Signs: Using Planners?

#4 Jingles with Admin - All you needed in this fun portion was to come up with a song and sing it to an admin! Mermah was very spoiled, with two songs, and Naomi with one. Kyla (Starlight) sang her own version of "Jingle Bell Rock", Sarah (xSarahsan) sang "Joy to the World Den", and Rose Jean sang her own version of "The Christmas Song".
#5 Holiday Traditions - According to Evie Riddle, she needed to find out Becky's (Eowyn29) holiday tradition for the "scavenger hunt thingamabob"; I think we can all relate to that! Evie enjoys making a meat pie and eating it, whilst Becky enjoys decorating and cutting up cards! Sarah loves to watch The Grinch and make desserts, while Brookie Malfoy like to get pizza and wear pj's whilst watching the 80's version of Rudolph (I'll have to check it out). On the note of pizza, if you order pizza a couple of minutes before midnight on NYE and get it delivered, it will come next year!
#6 Holiday Colours - This was the final activity to complete (if you did them in order). I coloured in a wreath, Willow Maid coloured a Christmas Tree, and Sarah did a house!
#1 Merry Memories - In this task, you needed to find an Admin and ask them about their favourite Christmas memory on myHogwarts. We found out that Professor Christiana's (Memrah) favourite memory was the site-wide Secret Santa and Professor Naomi's (Naomi-Jayne) was the wonderful sense of community her on mH - every day is a holiday for her. Professor Nicole's (Queen Nicole) favourite memory was when Lara (meowingmormon) played Santa Claus for the entire site! How awesome ... well maybe not so much for Lara on second thought. Professor Linda's (SusanHP) favourite memory was a disaster on mH when people died ... not too sure if she was trying to tell us something there, or just didn't read the question. Professor Jess (Jess The First) and Ella (Ella Granger Granger) loved the Secret Santa event too - hmm, I am starting to see a pattern - maybe we should bring back Secret Santa!
#2 Five Hidden Trees - With this task, you needed to solve five clues to find five trees! At the end, there was a puzzle for you to complete. Were you able to figure it out?
#3 Reindeer Roundup - This word search was sure to get your brain thinking!
A big thank you to Asphodel and AnneliseWolfe for making this event happen!

'Twas the Weekend Before Christmas

Another year, another HS event. Once again our head girls, Asphodel and AnneliseWolfe, hosted an amazing event for both students and Alumni. There were many activities for you to participate in!
The Sled Races were super fun, with Rose Jean just crossing the line before everyone else. Congratulations RJ! There were many creative questions to get you in the holiday spirit, including song and movie suggestions.
Dorgan was also around giving out presents and messages to everyone on site! So let's say a big thank you to the beloved house elf for all the hard work he did!
Then, the main event - the star of the show, if you may ... The Scavenger Hunt! There were six tasks to complete:
Valentine's Day Celebration
by awesome_forever
A day of unfeigned friendship and love, we continue to acknowledge those we love and adore on February 14th. Candy, flowers, cards, and gifts are exchanged between friends, family, and loved ones. Primarily the latter, Valentine’s Day honors St. Valentine, a martyr in the name of love.
There are various stories recognizing saints named Valentine, the most popular being that Valentine lived in a period in Rome when marriage was outlawed for young men, because single men made better soldiers. Going against the Emperor at the time, Emperor Claudius II, Valentine performed marriages for young loves in secret, but was later put to death for his actions.
All the stories emphasize St. Valentine as a figure of romance and love and February 14th is in honor for the efforts. Whether St. Valentine was a muggle or a wizard is unknown but I’m sure the belief of everyone in the magical community is the same ;)
