 Drunken Ducks vs. Madhouse

A brand new pitch and beautiful weather - what a way to start the season! We've got some strong competitors lined up for this match, and within minutes of the ref's whistle, DD's Cass Emeraude is in possession of the Quaffle. MH quickly reacts and one of their Chasers comes whizzing past Cass, attempting to snatch it out of her hands, but she reacts just in time, throwing it on to a teammate. Although a bludger is right on her tail, DD's Kathleen takes a risky shot and it pays off - DD score! Once again, the Quaffle is snatched up just moments after leaving the ref's hands, but this time by MH. The bludgers seem to be working together, both heading for the same team… and it looks like this is distracting MH's Gemini as she fumbles and the Quaffle falls!

Alumni vs. Visiting Students

During the Interim break, we also witnessed a brief showdown on the Ottery Pitch between visiting students and Hogwarts alumni! Right from the beginning, the Alumni team snatch up the Quaffle and take charge of the bludgers. The student team players seem to have all been a bit starstruck playing against some well-known professional players! The Quaffle quickly makes its way towards the student hoops where luckily an Alumni, Jen, is subbing in as Keeper, and as she is unaffected from playing against some well-known players, she is able to make the save! Jen tosses the Quaffle on to one of the student players, EllaLuna, and this seems to have knocked her out of her daze, and she quickly flies off towards the other end of the Pitch. EllaLuna takes a shot from afar and the AA Keeper does her best to stop her from scoring, but the speed at which the Quaffle was thrown is something no one could keep up with! Team SS scores! The players all seem to be quite distracted this game, and the seekers barely notice when the Snitch goes buzzing off into the air. Soon enough, they catch on and go flying after it but one Seeker is clearly ahead of the other and the Alumni team has caught the Snitch! The Alumni team wins! And they finally manage to put an end to the losing streak they've had against the students in the past few years.

AA: 100

Nobody was expecting it but DD is first to the scene and Cass swipes it up effortlessly, and with a sneaky side shot that MH's Keeper didn't even see, DD scores again! Once again, at the toss we see MH's Rae taking the lead and heading towards DD's hoops and before I can blink she shoots and scores! It's clear that DD's Cass is angry that MH were able to score as she almost takes the ref's head off when she swoops down to grab the Quaffle before anyone else does, though MH's Gemini is close behind her. With a shove, Mini forces Cass to toss the Quaffle off to her left towards MH's Rae, but luckily for Team DD the Quaffle flies just out of her reach and into the hands of Cass's teammate Kathleen. With another excellent shot, she scores once more for DD! Cass has been dominating the Chaser game this match with another beautiful pickup and a seemingly effortless flight to MH's goalposts… However, her path is disrupted as the two seekers race off after the tiny flicker of purply-gold, the Snitch driving them higher and higher into the air, but flying against the sun on a cloudless day is tough and it looks like one seeker has had to pause to rub her eyes which is just the advantage the other team was looking for… with DD at a 40 point lead, everyone is blinded trying to look up to see who's going to catch the Snitch, and even Cass seems to have slowed down on her way to score once more… we see a figure emerge… it's Arielle! MH have got the Snitch! Madhouse Wins!

The Real Deal: Episode 1

by Daanya

Welcome to a new series with me, your host, Daanya! Gosh, I do sound like such a generic talk show host! Anyways, here is where I review certain movies that I may or may not have watched and give my honest, somewhat brutal opinions of them. I will also be doing tv shows - some may end up being British classics. Let's get started! I thought I'd start with one that I haven't watched before, which is presumably a classic, and I am 100% sure that everybody's watched this one: Titanic!

I know, I know, how has this girl not watched such a masterpiece? I can already sense that some of you are gasping in sheer horror! But honestly, it seems too depressing to watch; I was already weeping buckets after listening to 'My Heart Will Go On' by Celine Dion - I'd prefer not to go further.

My first impression of Titanic was that it was about two silly lovebirds who were too infatuated with each other, and because of that they were extremely reckless and died as a result. When I was a young child, I specifically remember Jack and Rose (was that her name?) standing on the very edge of the ship - like the mermaids that you find on pirate ships - and sighing in disappointment thinking, "Well, of course you're going to die if you do stupid things like that!"

My thoughts stand the same, many years later, and my brain still isn't able to fathom the fact that they did not die a tragic death from falling off the ship during that mermaid-pirate scene. It is very likely that this is wrong, but I swear that their fateful deaths happened because Rose wasn't giving the wooden plank to Jack, who then died, and Rose died somehow. Seriously, how hard is it to share a means of survival when everyone is on the verge of death and struggling to swim in freezing cold water? For that reason, I've never really liked Rose. I also think that this movie is somewhat related to The Notebook for some bizarre reason because they're both set in the water - judging from what I've seen.

During primary school, I learnt about the tragedy of the Titanic ship sinking, and it made the movie more understandable by a small amount - take in the fact that it was minimal. I was also shown a clip, which I can vaguely remember, of Jack doing this heartwarming dance with several other third-class members: I also learnt about the different classes travelling on the ship - first, second and third. From that video, it was evident that Jack was third class and from another source, I have knowledge that Rose was a first class member of society, which means it was virtually impossible for them to find each other and have an affair. But, it is a movie and doesn't necessarily have to stick to the facts.

I thought I would finish with actually searching it up to make this review legitimate and the results were interesting. First, I ended up with the actual Titanic - making me have to enter "movie" in the search engine and finally get what I wanted. I was surprised that it was made in 1997 as it was much more recent than I had expected. When I looked at the cast, it was disappointing on my part that the only actor I recognised was Leonardo DiCaprio, whom I'd seen in another romance movie.

That was the end of my first review and I hope you enjoyed it! Feel free to PM me your suggestions and opinions as they would be very useful, and I must say: I simply couldn't not finish this with a Titanic meme.
