Letter From the editor

Dearest Readers of the Quibbler,

Hello! I am beyond excited to welcome you back to the Quibbler for our eighty-eighth issue. This edition recaps all of the exciting events that took place during Year 68, including the Interim Head Student Event, highlights from the Quidditch Pitch, and the Codenames Tournament! Additionally, you will find an intriguing Quibbler Quest involving a mysterious "mH's Brownie Expert" demanding desserts from students! Perhaps most mind-boggling of all, this issue will also get at the heart of the pink wave that has swept through the Muggle world during the past few months. As our columnist suggests, is Barbie really responsible for the pink plague... or is Umbridge behind it?

If you're interested in writing for the Quibbler or if you have any feedback, questions, or concerns, please PM me!

Sincerely,

The myHogwarts community loves the site for a variety of reasons, such as classes, Gap Years and different types of games. There are also plenty of extracurricular activities that have attracted users to the site for a long time. Along with the regular activities such as Quidditch and duelling, and activities that appear from time to time such as Codenames, there is another activity that has become the favourite of many: Chess, with the Riddle Cup that is held with students participating, the McGonagall Cup with Alumni participating and the Aragon-Gagwilde Cup with both students and Alumni participating. In Year 67, the Aragon-Gagwilde Cup returned, catching the attention of students and Alumni alike.

As usual, Round One started off with the participation of ten students and Alumni and took place during the first half of the year. Following the completion of the first round, the rankings were as follows:

4. Arielle
5. Willow Maid

7. Jenna Rae
8. Reyna Walles

10. Annabeth Granger

At the top of the rankings in Round 1 was Elara Lufkin, with nine matches recorded. An enthusiastic Gryffindor, and one of the Head Students, she was shining both as the Chess Assistant Moderator and as an uprising chess player. Can her refined chess skills push her towards victory?

Next came Asphodel, a Hufflepuff Alumna and the Induction Coordinator on the site. With seven matches won, she became known as quite the tough opponent. Her moves throughout have been smooth, could that be enough to help her secure the chess crown?

Next in the rankings was Memrah, our very own C. An mH chess veteran, this Headmistress has always been very enthusiastic in whatever she is doing. Competing fiercely throughout the first round, she has won a total of seven matches. Can her extensive experience lead her to victory?

With all the Round One matches completed, the Bracket Round then commenced, bringing a few more cool Alumni vs. Student battles to life. The first two matches, one between Anthony Williams and Reyna Walles, and the other between Jenna Rae and Annabeth Granger took place quickly, resulting in Reyna Walles facing off against Elara Lufkin and Annabeth Granger battling Asphodel next. As the days passed by swiftly, two more matches, one between Arielle and Willow Maid, and the other between Memrah and pelagia, happened simultaneously, with Willow Maid and Memrah emerging victorious.

The four matches resulted in four winners, who were separated into brackets again. This time around, one match took place between Willow Maid and Elara Lufkin, while Memrah and Annabeth Granger knocked each other's pieces off the board in the other. Elara Lufkin, with her amazing skills, entered the final battlefield with Memrah as her opponent, ready to fight.A fierce match between the Headmistress and the Head Student soon started... After numerous ups and downs that took everyone's breath away, Elara Lufkin finally emerged as the Aragon-Gagwilde Champion of Year 67!
