the timing of this flood I think a lot will do the Flying Test, pass and then realise they still have to wait 5 weeks to be sorted and drop out. I expect maybe 40-50 to make it to sorting and then only 20-25 of them to pass their first year.

GL: Thats not very many at all :/. Is it fun deleting members when they become inactive?

Sharpie: Yes! Deleting members is great fun. It's a bit of an abuse of power really, but we're not particularly short on members and the total amount of members would increase very quickly if I didn't periodically delete inactive validatees. Inactive sorted students are not deleted and underages only rarely. I'd like to get the members back down to under 1,000 if possible because I think if it's much more we risk losing our community, family feel. We have max 400 active members with possibly another 50 who we think will come back when they can, so that leaves a lot of room for deleting!

GL: Lol I think I would have fun, too! How many other floods have happened before?

Sharpie: We've never had a flood of this magnitude. The flood just before year 19 was what gave rise to the validation system. We needed a way to process and filter out newly joined members in high volume. Even the system as it is now is having to change to accommodate all these new members.
We also had a mini-flood before year 16 where we got about 200 members in a day (that was a lot back then! ) but nothing followed it. Both the year 19 flood and this one came about mainly because of the other website that we share our name with.

GL: Oh, really? Did you know that there was going to be a flood this year?

Sharpie: Yes I was expecting one because we got a pre-flood surge of members over the last couple of weeks. I did not however know when the actual flood would be until last week because I don't keep up with the news from the other myhogwarts. One of the people I work with in Kings Cross told me.
If you want to expand on any of these or digeess into other areas of my job feel free i'll tell you if I can't answer a question (although you'd be fairly pushed to find one!) I will not leak to the press however any plans for the development of Kings Cross!

GL:Haha I think I'm done... for now ;). Thank you for sharing!

Sharpie: No problem.

Dear Norisari,
I am a writer (poetry, short story) but sometimes there are essays to be written for school work and they have deadlines. I tend to forget what to write and panick if there are deadlines. Also, I have hard time writing essays than writing for leisure.
Sincerely, Writer

Dear Concerned,
A Ravenclaw/Gryffindor food fight? I'd love to see this. I think... the Ravies would win; sorry Lions. They love their food so they would plan how to save it for tactical purposes. And I don't like to put stereotypes into play, but I'm sure they could come up with ways to put a creative twist on the food fight. I'm not sure what kind of twist, but I'm sure their overworked brains could come up with something. Those Lions just throw it and hope it lands on their target (I would know, I've been on the receiving end of one of their fights). If this were to occur, I would root for Ravenclaw. Gryffindor, I think a challenge has been issued. Will you take up on it?
May the best foodie win,
Norisari.

Dear Writer,
Just take it slow and plan out what to write. If there's a certain topic you have to write an essay about, do some research, jot down little notes here and there. Don't work on it all at once; take it day by day. Deadlines may seem scary, but make smaller deadlines for yourself. Say you get the assignment on Monday and it's due in two weeks. Make a deadline for yourself on Friday to have the planning and research down. By the following Wednesday have the rough draft completed. Monday you should have it finished and you can hand it in. You just gotta stay focused on the topic, try not to get too far off-topic and take your time. I've learned the hard way to not cram it all in the night before it's due. I told myself to do this and it works. I have the same problem you do; leisure writing is much more fun, but using these tips may help.
Good luck, Norisari.

If you have a question you would like answered in the next issue of the Quibbler, be sure to send it to Norisari.

Dear Norisari,
So it has been pointed out in multiple threads that Ravenclaws LOVE their food...and the Gryffindors love to throw food. Who do you think would win in an epic Ravenclaw/Gryffindor food fight?

mH FLOOD?!

Dear Norisari...

Gabby Lucas: Hello Sharpie!!

Sharpie: Hi Gabby!

GL: When a flood starts, say like the one Saturday when nearly 200 people joined in an hour, Do you think the majority of them will stay?

Sharpie: No. Many come on just to have a look round to see what's what then decide the validation system is too complicated and leave without posting anything. I deleted 134 of these this (Monday) morning. Because of
